DokeV (Korean: 도깨비) is an open-world action-adventure game centered on collecting creatures, currently in development at Pearl Abyss. Players take on the role of characters who discover Dokebi—beings that draw power from human dreams—and set off on shared journeys.
Development is led by Pearl Abyss founder Daeil Kim as executive producer, with Sangyoung Kim, a former lead animator on *Black Desert Online*, serving as lead producer. The project was initially announced under the name Project V. On November 7, 2019, it was officially revealed as DokeV alongside a trailer. A week later, on November 14, 2019, that trailer debuted at Pearl Abyss Connect 2019, held during G-STAR 2019 in South Korea. On December 5, 2019, the studio released the trailer’s original soundtrack, “ROCKSTAR,” a lyric video, and a new screenshot. The first gameplay trailer premiered at Gamescom: Opening Night Live on August 25, 2021.
As of October 2024, Pearl Abyss anticipated a release no earlier than 2027, roughly 18 months after the launch of *Crimson Desert*. In May 2026, the company stated that DokeV was in pre-production, with resources being redirected to speed up its development. Pearl Abyss also announced a goal of releasing a new title every two to three years, suggesting a target window of 2028 or 2029.
